E2200 Ink Levels

E2200 Ink Levels

2004-12-06 by Vic/Johanna Culver

Good morning, group. After all the discussion of computer storage for files
I expect this won't be too far OT -- I'm having monumental confusion about
ink levels in my (new to me) Epson 2200 printer. I don't have the original
CD for installation and I had to download the driver from Epson. I got the
printer from an acquaintance locally and it had carts installed (and a whole
CRATE of extra carts) and so I have a way to go with the UC inks. Problem
is -- according to the 'manual' there should be a printer icon in my 'tray'
display, but it only shows during actual printing. Going to Control Panel
and ticking on Properties brings up the printer files, and ticking on
Maintenance tab produces head cleaning options, etc. -- but the INK LEVELS
choice, the first in the list, is grayed out. I don't seem to be able to
see what my ink status is. The manual doesn't seem to provide me with
information I need to help myself. Does this option come up only when the
ink gets LOW in any cart? I've printed several color 7.5 X 10 inch prints
(and I'm happy with the prints) but I wish I knew whether or not to put in
an expensive 13 x 19 inch sheet, etc.! When I feel comfortable with this
machine I'll get Roy's new QTR program for Windows (MANY thanks, Roy) and
start my black and white printing. Any comments would be appreciated, and
let's take it off-line if that's most appropriate. Thanks, group. Vic

I think you need to download the "Status Monitor" in addition to the
driver. I believe that is the thing that hangs out in your system
tray.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
