Good Results with QTR and 2200 Ultrachrome

2004-12-13 by john dean

I just wanted to relay some informatin about our results with the QTR on a 2200 with
Ultrachrome matte black ink. The monochrome prints on H. Photo Rag are really
outstanding. Totally neutral, with 0, really, 0 metamerism, nice tonal range, rich blacks,
and very versitile toning capabilities. These prints that we did are neither warm or cold,
but straight down the center neutral. Of course if you do need warm neutral or sepia prints
or proably just about any hue, it is as easy as a change in the curve relationships Roy has
designed.

Roy, you have made the Ultrachrome inkset an excellent platform for black and white
printing for anyone with one of these new printers, and at an affordable price. I plan to try
it out now on a 9600 if I can just come up with a little more cash.

Not only are these prints rich, metamerism free, and easy to produce, but they are also
extremely permanent.

John

John - out of interest, what QTR paper etc settings are you using for
printing Photo Rag?
