Paul, I'm looking to make prints with the C86 EZ carts to look like the warmtone Agfa Portriga. Do you know of a combination of the various carts that might get me close? I currently have the Neutral set, but I am getting ready to order pints (YEE HAW!) and re-fillable carts. Thanks for any suggestions, Scott

Scott, I have the warm set of inks (CFS). Those combined with Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl with Paul's settings (brightness +8, contrast -10/15) give prints that are slightly warmer than old Portriga prints I have. Now my old Portriga Rapid prints have been selenium toned (35 years ago) so they are slightly cooler than they were straight. So I suspect that Paul's recommendations for getting neutral inks slightly warmer (there were two suggestions I don't remember them off-hand. They're easy to find on the MIS site and probably Paul's own site) ... anyway, those combinations will get you very close to Portriga with this paper. I think (but would have to check) that Epson Premium semi-gloss reacts about the same way. I've only printed out a couple on it and that was in the beginning, when I was getting the hang of all of this. Daniel Ridings http://www.dlridings.com/paw2004

Thanks Daniel. I also came across this site concerning BO printing and he give some in-sight to paper-ink tones of the ones he has tried. http://www.cjcom.net/articles/digiprn5.htm Anyone wanting a "film look" should try BO printing and checking out that site. The BO's I tried lastnight I REALLY liked, EXCEPT, I couldn't get ris of some "banding".
