My 9600 will print but only when in "sheet feed mode"

I'm using the latest 2.1.7 version and when I make my print, I have "Roll Feed (Cutter On)" selected, but the 9600 has the sheet feed light flashing once the data is transfered to the printer. I have to toggle to sheet feed on the printer to make the program start the printing. I tried reloading but with no change. The 2.1.6 version worked fine. XP Home Greg Wealth is a state of mind.
