.... nor any drop to drink

.... nor any drop to drink

2004-12-29 by andy

Water, water everywhere..... maybe that should read INK..

Twenty years behind the camera and a shameless inkjet novice, I want to do
it the way you lot do it butI need a little help... if anyone can please
spare a few moments? I can't work out how to search the (whole) archive
(it will only search a page at a time for me) so..........

QTR/GUI - is there a "How To" guide for rank amateurs?

Epson - do I have to ditch my R200 (I only do A4 max)?

Ink - Is there a UK source for the wondrous concoctions I see on the list?

Please backchannel me if this is clogging up the list needlessly.

Thanks in advance
Andy

Hello Andy,

Welcome to the fascinating world of inkjet printing in BW. The
questions you ask are the same ones all of us have asked more than
once, so nothing is needless that clears or reinforces our craft of
printing.

QTR/Gui has as part of the package a help menu selection that
thoroughly explains its usage.

Epson--many of us use the 1280 and 2200 and those with the big bucks
the 4000. All are wonderful printers, but with QTR they become
wonderfuller(!!)

Ink--MIS (www.inksupply.com) supplies the UT2/UT7 inks used primarily
by the group users. They also ship worldwide, so stock up.

The progression from newbie to non-newbie occurs the instant you make
the first great print and can do it again with another image. That
establishes your workflow.

Johnny

The manual is in the help menu choice in QTRGui by Steven Billiards.
That front end for QTR will enable us Windows users to avoid having
to learn what the MAC and Linux users have learned from using those
operating systems, and believe me it is a lot to learn. I am not
smart enough to learn Linux. The GUI front end is on Stevens website
www.stevenbillards.org. Without dropping out of the message editor
that's what comes to mind. A Google search will give you the correct
site is that is not correct.
