art fairs

Hello,

Just a question? Do any of you do art fairs? I was interested in
doing an art fair to see what it is like and wanted to know anyone's
experiences (I also wanted to pick your brain). Have any of you had
buyers question the print perminence of your digital prints?

Josh

Josh,

Here's a yahoo group that discusses this topic and might
contain answers to some of your questions. Could be worth a
look:

Interestingly enough, art faire buyers don't seem to talk about it much. Other artists do talk about it. But, they usually aren't buyers. OTH, I do reproductions for other artists which they sell. They echo the buyers position. They might care but their buyers don't seem to ask.

I don't use that as an excuse to not use the most proven materials, however.

Gallery buyers do seem to care more, though.

Here's an excellent group for art fairs:

Josh

There is another and much more specific yahoo group that deals with
all aspects of art shows. It's the Art Show Photography group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/artshow_photo/

The folks there were a great source of information in helping me
prepare for the two shows I did last year.

Also check out the group's moderator, Larry Berman, website for
additional art show resouces: http://artshowphoto.com/contents.htm

I found selling at these shows to be great fun as well as a wonderful
place to talk with others about your work and experiences

Good Luck!
