Phil,

Could be the reason I have never had any trouble with 'pizza wheel marks' -
I have never used 'High Speed' on any of my Epsons.

One consideration in this regard is the use of High Speed mode. I
never have used it, and I wonder if those getting pizza wheel marks
are generally using High Speed(?) This conceivably might be an issue
since those wheels contact the paper after the ink application, so if
there's less time to dry, the paper surface may be too soft at that
point (no pun intended). Or can you see the marks in the non-printed
areas, too?

The issue quickly arises if you move away from the Epson inks and the Epson
driver but that is a freedom well worth having. I am running quite a high
ink load at the moment to drive my dMax on EPSG over 2 (2.2 for neutral
curves) and use glop to greatly reduce bronzing for beautiful B&W prints -
way in excess of what I have ever been able to get with Epson inks and
driver. The cost is the pizza wheel marks which are no more....

I've learned of a method on the Alternative Process Mail List how to
eliminate pizza wheel marks. Here is what was posted:

'Lift the top and look down on the wheels. They are on a silver bar
which lifts up about 1/8". On the far left is a plastic wheel. With
the silver lifted up with your right hand, press the wheel down with
your left little finger. It should snap down and stay put, lifting
up the silver bar and all the "pizza wheels".'

This works without a hitch.

Hope this helps,

Don Bryant

Worked like a charm. Many thanks for the tip Don. Now with the rubber
rollers pegged up and the pizza wheels snapped up an out of the way
there are no more roller or pizza wheel marks on my 2200 glopped
prints.

I dont quite understand the procedure.
Im trying to displace the pizza wheels on my 2200 and also the roller wheels too.
Could you please clarify your method?

Carl
