Digital BW, The Print

Hi all !

just recently joined this group and I am amazed by the number of 
threads !

I serioulsy look into buying a EPSON PRO 4000 here in Singapore for a 
price of 3500 SIN$ (about 1640Euro or 2140$).

Is in terms of bw printing ok with the default inks or is a 
replacement of the inks by pro bw inks required ?

Here's what Clayton Jones has tyo say about the 4000:

"If 16x20 prints are needed, the model 4000 is highly recommended.  
While large, heavy and expensive, it has a unique dither pattern and 
produces the best BO prints I have seen so far.'

One advantage to BO printing (assuming you like results)you can still 
print color if you want to.

Personally, I use a C86 with MIS EZ inks and the quality of prints 
that can be achived with this combo is stunning! It'll only do 
8.5x11, though.
