Card Stock and the C 86

We are having trouble printing on card stock with the Epson C 86. Has anybody else had this trouble? We have printed on a lot of card stock with the older Epsons, 980s, 1186s, and the 980s. These all had a lever, to raise the carriage. the newer C 86 does not have that feature. Hope some one can tell me how to do this. Ken in Minn
