MIS UT-2 for Epson 7500 ?

MIS UT-2 for Epson 7500 ?

2005-01-30 by chartwigp

Hi all !

I'm about to change inks in my (recently acquired refurbished) 7500
since I'm not satisfied with Epson's color inks... I've decided I'll
assign the 7500 to B&W work only.

I've almost chosen MIS UT inks, but I wonder if UT-2 is available for
the 7500... missupply's web site says no, but QTR has curves for
7500-UT2 ! BTW, I think I'll use QTR...

Could someone please help me ? What other choices do I have ?
I'm not ready to choose a fixed-tone B&W inkset... If you think of
other alternatives (in the same price range !), please tell me so !

Thank you
Chris

PS : not an english native speaker, please be kind regarding my english

I ran UT-1 in my 7500 for quite a while, but it does not print well on
glossy papers. So, I now run a modified UT-FSN. I call it the UT-FSN+. I
have a full description of it at
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/7500-FS-Readme.htm .

The inkset can print on both matte and glossy papers without having to
change the black ink, which is important in large format printers.

While the inkset is mostly aimed at neutral printing, it also has warm (pure
carbon) inks that allow some warm printing.

All the inks except one are off-the-shelf MIS inks. The FSN+ LC is
different than the standard UT-FSN ink, but MIS will be mixing it soon. It
can also be mixed from readily available inks. I'll try to get MIS to get
this going ASAP, since there seems to be a number of people who are
interested.

I have curves on my webpage for a number of papers.
