tired of clogging

tired of clogging

2005-01-31 by Altaf Bhimji

hi everyone,

i have 1280 , and use ut2 inks ... am having lots of problems with
clogging... i try to do the cleaning... and it works fine for a few
prints, but then overnight, it seems to clog again...

is there a permanent solution to this --- i think i remember someone
mentioning that the 2200 does not clog, is that true?

I use the UT7 inks in the 2200 and haven't experienced any clogs yet.
I think someone mentioned before that the 1280 is made for dye inks
while the 2200 is made for pigments. That may be the problem as the
MIS inks are pigments.

There do seem to be more problems with the 1280 than the 2200. The pigment
printers do more automatic cleaning cycles, but I think there may be another
major factor. A number of the 1280 cart batches appear to have been
troublesome. And on a bad cart, the ink just will not release ink properly
in one or more ink positions. What I've been having do not appear to be
clogs. When I get one that shows this characteristic in a color spot, I
just give up on the cart.

I hope to get some of the new sponge-less, easy-refill ones this next week.
We'll see how they work.
