Digital BW, The Print

First off, 

Hi, and thanks for having me in this group- I found it through a fredmiranda.com post.  
OK, so I just got an epson 4000, whose print profiles are admittadly pretty good. 

I do notice some problems, however, with saturation.  I'd like to take some of my black 
and white macro work to this printer in 8.5x11, but I need to blacks to be extremely 
saturated.  In the words of spinal tap, not a "pastel black".  

Does anyone have any tips for heavy black images on the 4000?  I know to use one pass 
printing rather than multi-pass.
