QTR with USB Only?

QTR with USB Only?

2005-02-17 by Peter Gorwin

Hello:

I just jumped on board the group a couple of days ago. I heard so many
great things about QTR that I decided to
download it and give it a spin. I'm running a G5 (10.3.8), with a 2200
hooked up to my firewire. QTR seems unable to find this
printer. Do I need to run the printer out of the USB port in order for
the RIP to find it? Thanks. (By the way, very informative group!)

Regards, Peter Gorwin

Hi Peter,

I'm new to the group too. I have the same system as yours and I found that I
did have to use USB for QTR. You can leave both cables hooked up and
everything will work as usual. (USB for QTR and Firewire for everything else.)

HTH.

Yes, for now you must use the USB port not the Firewire. This is actually
because of the OS. It's probably going to work with firewire when the
next OS X 10.4 Tiger comes out.

Dear All,

I have no problems printing from QTR to my 2100 via Firewire on a PC
with XP Home. Perhaps this problem is a Mac only one.
