Dedicated B&W Epson 2000P not recognizing MIS Inkset Cartridges

Dedicated B&W Epson 2000P not recognizing MIS Inkset Cartridges

2005-02-20 by brad1gold

I have converted my old 2000P into a dedicated black and white
printer. I have been getting beautiful results. I just changed out
the depleted UTFS-T016 2000PUTFS and UTFS-T015-K MIS Eboni Black
cartidges. I have now run into a roadblock as I am getting an error
message that reads "The installed black and color ink cartridges
cannot be recognized by this printer. Please replace these ink
cartridges." I have also had a message that lets me know that these
are not the Epson recommended ink sets and asks me if I want to
proceed anyway, whereupon I click on yes. Both red lights on the
2000P are steadily on and not blinking, which usually indicates a
depleted cartridge.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am on a deadline.

howdy Brad...

have you tried switching the chips with a new set from Epson ink carts?
