Re: [Digital BW] Dot Density and a Reflection Densitometer - Help
2001-11-18 by Adrian Joyner
If I print a step wedge which has dot density percentages as measured in Photoshop from 0%-100% using different papers or inksets I will get a varying range of reflection densitometer readings depending on the particular combination . There surely is a mathematical relationship between a reflection densitometer value and the actual printed dot density. Can someone tell me what that my be. I appreciate that I could rescan the printed image and then measure using the Photoshop densitometer tool but I just think that everybody's different scanner will introduce yet another variable into the equation.
