Ben, the Nikon glass holder for $230 works quite well for me without 
any problems. I've been quite happy with the scanner (8000)

I tested the minolta and it did not scan as well as the Nikon ls-2000 
that I had at the time.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
