Digital BW, The Print

Now that I have tried to purchase Arches Infinity Natural inkjet paper, I 
have been told by InkjetArt that it only comes in one "color", which is bright 
white.  I know I read (somewhere!) that there was also a "Natural" (creamy 
colored) version available.  Has anyone used that and/or have any suggestions about 
purchasing it?  (Steve, this is a degree of subtlety that in my experience B&
H won't really deal with on the phone in their haste to finish the order and 
get on to the next deal).

That's mis-information actually although widely reported on the internet.  It turned out to 
be a warehouse right beside the B&H warehouse.  The B&H warehouse was not damaged.

I got it from Channel 4 NYC news that morning, perhaps they were wrong. 
Good for B&H - bad for the neighbor.

Unless things have changed since I first tested it, what they call
bright white is really pretty creamy. I've not seen an Arches paper I
would call bright white no matter it's name.
Personally, I thnk German Etching is a much better choice. Takes ink
better, higher gamut and dmax, nice surface with very slight warm
paper base. Price more reasonable as well, last I looked at the Arches
prices.

There are only two paper types and two weights.  The papers are either
"textured" or "smooth" and you have choices of 230 gsm or 355 gsm.  I have
been using the AI Smooth 230 and 355 and both are very creamy in color.

You are confusing us.

There are two papers, white and Natural white, and they come in two 
weights, 230 and 355 gsm (and yes they come in two textures each). I 
have a sample pack with both colours in a 13 x 19 size @ 355. However 
on the back of the package they have a graph of sizes available and 
natural white is only listed as being available in the 34 x 47 inch 
size and only the 355. It is not available in rolls.

Quite possible, but was not my intent.

All I was trying to point out is that all I have seen in the stores is the
"white" version.  What may be the confusion is that I was referring to cut
sheet paper (8.5x11 through Super B, and up) and rolls available in stores
and at all online retailers that I have researched.  I went through this
some time ago and could only find the "white" paper.

As you point out, natural white is only available in large sheets 34x47 and
this is what is stated on the Arches Infinity Web site and frankly I have
not been able to find it anywhere.  Given that there has been no other post
with a source for natural white, it probably is hard to find.  That is all I
was trying to communicate to the original poster.  I should have said there
are only two papers and two weights that "I can find" or "that is available
in stores" or some other such wording.  My error and I should have done
better.

My apologies to the group as a whole if I posted a very confusing email, it
was definitely not my intent.  I was only trying to help the other poster
understand what is available.  Your email did a much better job than I did
in that regard.

I will recede back to lurker status until I have something less confusing to
contribute...

Hey Paul:

I'm slightly confused too, that Arches would make samples available in 
13 x 19 yet only sell larger quantities in 34 x 47.

Perhaps I should have said, "you are confusing me" ; ) as no one else 
has complained!
