In terms of print quality they are not really miles apart,
the 2200 is though a much better choice for pigment
inks, the printhead is much less prone to clogging,
compared to the 1280.

For use with carbon inks only, is there any advantage to the 1280?

Is 1280's coarser inkjet pattern more apparent than 2200's under close
  non-magnified inspection?

  Better ideas in 13"-plus?
