Mysterious MIS "pigment" ink for Canon printers?

Hello All, Just in case anyone is using a Canon printer for B&W (or anything else), a possible warning: I bought 4 of MIS's bargain $5 aftermarket (dye) black cartridges (P-BCI-3eK), which have worked fine in my lady-friend's Canon in the past. But this time the black head stopped printing ANYTHING within a day or 2 of cartridge installation... not a single hint of black ink on the nozzle check. Head cleaning cycles did nothing to help. When I pulled the cartridge, I was surprised to see the word "Pigment" printed (printed by the factory, I mean) in big red letters on the cartridge label. Nothing on the box, or the photo on the box, just on the label. I installed a genuine Canon cart, but still no luck after repeated cleanings. I called MIS tech support and was told, yes, the factory labeling on the aftermarket cartridges had changed for reasons unknown, but it should still be dye ink in the cartridge, not pigment. Windex on the parking pad has opened up about half the nozzles, and I think everything will be OK with the printer by tomorrow. And maybe the head clog had nothing to do with the ink. Maybe it was a feed problem due to a badly-seating cartridge, not a clog at all. But the cartridge was full of ink, the vent hole was open, and that word "pigment" sure is puzzling! John Broski
