Digital BW, The Print

I was considering using the Permajet Mono Pro inks in my 1290s, so planned
to view some sample prints at the recent Focus exhibition at the NEC here in
the UK. The prints I saw produced produced with these inks seemed rather
lack lustre, they were fixed to the display stand partially behind a tall
plant, it was very hard to view them from the sides or get real close. To
me, they looked very flat, more as if produced on a laser printer with a
dying toner cartridge. Does anyone in this group use these inks, and can
they comment on them?
