Epson C 66 MIS Inks

Epson C 66 MIS Inks

2005-03-21 by Russell Baker

Hi Gang............

I bought an Epson C 66 printer and the MIS EZN Inks.

The printer tells me that that it doesn't recognize the inks.

  OK that I understand.

The ink status monitor shows that I have ink the
the colored ink slots but it shows an "X" where
  the black ink is.

I have taken the cartridge out a few times and reinstalled it
but it doesn't make any difference.

Is it possible that I recieved a bad black ink cartridge.

I suppose I could try the black ink that came with the printer.

  ????????????????????????????????????

  Thanks

  Russ

Yes it is possible you have a bad chip on that cart. You should
contact MIS. If you have a "regular" cart to put in that spot, you
should try it and make sure it isn't your printer.

Please ignore this next part, just checking something:

Hi Russ,

Did you mean to say you have a C86 printer?

I don't see where MIS sells EZ carts for the C66.

I was wondering if you're trying to use a C86 cart in a C66 printer,
and that is where the problem is.
