Bernd - Just use the L* values for IJC linearization. There's no need to convert to density. If printer output L* is linear with respect to grayscale input, it will be a VERY close match to gray gamma 2.2. Then if you adjust your monochrome images in gray gamma 2.2 working space using a well calibrated monitor, your prints will look right.
