Print Exchange - Large Size (13 x 19)

Print Exchange - Large Size (13 x 19)

2001-11-27 by shilesh.jani@smith-nephew.com

I went through interest shown last week, and some posts today. The
following people have shown interest in an exchange of 10
participants maximum for prints made on 13 x 19 paper:
(1) Jim Hayes, (2) Martin Wesley, (3) Peter Lindman, (4) Chris Patti,
(5) Sam McCandles, (6) Brian Mitiken, and (7) Shilesh Jani
Those listed above please confirm. Other who are interested please
let me know. There are three more spots open, and the tentative print
turn-in date is February 1, 2002. I have volunteered to coordinate.

Re: Print Exchange - Large Size (13 x 19)

2001-11-28 by Martin Wesley

Shilesh,

I had given up generating any interest on the list for a large size
print exchange and have been badgering people off list to put
together an A3 (11.7"x16.5") size exchange. I am still waiting for
everyone I contacted to respond and there may be some openings if not
everyone I asked wants to join.

Thank you for offering to coordinate. I will be happy to participate
in your 13x19 group as well. I do want to point out that normally you
need 11 members for a standard "group of 10" exchange. Everyone makes
10 prints to send out plus one for themselves. You can do it with 10
and everyone sends in 9 prints. Bottom line you are the moderator and
the moderator gets to do it anyway they want!

We will need some good resources here for appropriately sized plastic
sleeves and boxes. Anyone have suggestions?

Martin Wesley

Well I'm a bit confused, because I thought Shilesh started this exchange
with names from the exchange you were coordinating, or so I thought. So will
this be one exchange or two separate exchanges? I'm up for one or the other,
but Martin, will yours collapse if people are appropriated to another? Or is
there no overlap of names aside from those who wish to participate in both?
Have I read this all wrong?

[Digital BW] Re: Print Exchange - Large Size (13 x 19)

2001-11-28 by Martin Wesley

Todd,

As it stands right now there are two separate large print exchanges.
Mine on A3 and Shilesh's on 13x19. The only overlap between the two
groups is Peter Lindman and myself. I am going to do both, so unless
Peter decides two is just too much and drops out of one or the other,
and both exchanges are on track and probably full. In fact it looks
like there needs to be another large print exchange to accommodate
everyone!

I must be crazy. I need to get Scott 31 - 8.5x11 prints, Shilesh 10 -
13x19 prints and 15 - A3 prints for the group I am moderating! Groan!
But think of the end result! Wow!

Martin

Thanks for clarifying. I needed to make sure as I'm just about to order the
paper for your exchange, and 11x17 is not otherwise a size I'd stock.

I hate to miss an exchange, but alas, I'll have to let one go.
