Photo Rag 308 & Paper feed - 2100

2005-04-10 by Richard Smallfield

Hi,
I'm finding that I have to push A5 sheets of RhotoRag down manually in conjunction with pushing the paper feed button when printing as the paper does not get fed into the printer otherwise.

I don't recall this happening before and it's a while since I printed A3 or A4 - is this normal?

thanks,
Richard

Yes, it's normal. For me the first few sheets will usually go through
fine then they stop working and I have to help them through. Running a
few sheets of EEM through the printer usually gets it back to normal.
Seems like theere's something about the Photo Rag coating that's left on
the paper pick up mechanism that causes the problem.

As many replies have already indicated... "Use the rear feed." With
all papers heavier than "typewriter," I use the rear feed AND keep
the "print head height lever" at the "envelope" position.
