Problem with MIS Refillable cart

Problem with MIS Refillable cart

2005-04-28 by mastedward

I recently bought a set of MIS inks & cartridges for the Epson 2200
(using the Eboni matte black). When the black Epson cartridge hit
empty I filled the MIS cart per instructions (& reset the chip) and put
it into the 2200. No success; the red light still shows that cartridge
position empty. Took it out - primed it again - reset chip again but
without success. Checked that the printer screen shows the Matte Black
option hightlighted - it does. Has anyone had this problem? Is this
just a faulty cartridge? I haven't yet tried any of the other MIS
cartridges in the 2200 and now wonder if I should just stick with the
Epson carts (put in a new Epson black cart and it's working fine).
Thanks, Edward

Re: Problem with MIS Refillable cart/Thanks Paul & Walt. . .

Thanks for your suggestions, Paul & Walt. I've never had a chip off a
cartridge so think of the two as one unit. But no doubt the problem is
with the chip and not the cartridge; unfortunately I threw out the
previous epson black-ink cart; but I'll see if I can get the chip off
the current one when it runs out of ink. Thanks again, and thank you
Paul for your postings regarding the C86 with MIS inks. I've been
using it with good results until recently - a banding problem which
I'm sure I'll be able to resolve. Edward--- In
