Gassing out and media/print life

I am considering the purchase of some new cabinets and shelving for my digital printmaking studio. The construction materials include particle board, MDF, and plywood, covered with glued-on plastic laminate. I can't tell if the following concern is the result of paranoid or merely careful thinking: Can these materials be used without deleterious effects on print life or paper color? Should they even be in the same room? I would like to use the cabinets for print and paper storage. Thank you for your indulgence and insight. Jonathan
