IJC/OPM Update

IJC/OPM Update

2005-06-03 by jbowhaus

IJC/OPM update..

New update for MAC and XP IJC/OPM users is available for download.

These updates are available at no charge to all registered users.

XP version:

Direct support for the Gretag MacBeth eyeOne spectrophotometer....
IJC will now directly connect to your eyeOne and let you automate
the linearization process. You can now use the eyeOne in either strip
read mode or as a static reader. The L*ab values are then stored into your
profile. IJC displays the a*b* in a graphical interface. Making it easy to
visually adjust a profile for neutrality. ..Plus many internal bug fixes..

MAC and PC version: Increased inkflow to the 1160, 1280, 4000, 7600
and 9600 printers.

These printers now are able to dramatically put out more ink. This
has resulted in extra D-Max.

MAC and PC profiles now interchangeable. The Mac version of IJC will
now let you open and let you save a IJC PC profile for the MAC.

MAC version:
..Many internal bug fixes..
Optimized dither pattern on the 7600/9600.
Increased inkflow to the 1160, 1280, 4000, 7600 and 9600 printers.

To download.. Follow your original download information

Thanks again to everyone for your support.

Hi Joe,

Great news for 1160 users like me. Thanks. EyeOne integration is
definitely a plus. Any idea of when R1800 support becomes available?

Thanks,

If you are an IJC/OPM user, this release is definitely worth
downloading. The automated Eye One support makes linearization with
an Eye One fast and easy. The a* and b* components of Lab are loaded
in the profile as both tabular data and graphed, making it easy to
neutralized a profile and remove color crossovers. These also remain
in the profile as a permanent record, so you can see the tonality of
the profile when opening it. A great feature when swapping profiles
with others.

Increased ink limits on various printers has definitely increased
Dmax, which I can attest to on the 4000. I'm getting 1.72 to 1.74 on
EEM with my 4000.

There are a number of other enhancements and bug fixes. The ability
to exchange profiles between platforms is also a big plus. I have
always liked the ability to free edit curve shapes in IJC.

The program has worked flawlessly on my Windows XP machine.

Regards, Lou

Is it possible to see a demo of your product? Work with Permajet B&W
products? Thanks.

UC or MIS inks? It's probably the same for both, anyway.

It'd be nice if Joe would include the Xrite meters in IJC, or at least allow manual input of the LAB data.

[Digital BW] Re: IJC/OPM Update

2005-06-03 by Louis Dina

Hi Tom.

IJC/OPM doesn't know or care what type of ink is in a specific ink
position, so the ink limits are increased globally on a number of
printers, including the 4000, 7600 and 9600. (The 2200 was fine as
it was, so it was not increased).

I am hoping other popular spectrophotometers will be added in the
future. I agree, it would be nice to be able to manually enter Lab
data if the spectro is not supported.

Lou

Re: [Digital BW] Re: IJC/OPM Update

I was just wondering which ink set you are using on the EEM. I'm getting the same readings on EEM on the 9600 with UC inks. The dmax is probably the same for MIS. I was just looking for a comparison of the 9600 with the 4000. I believe Paul Roark is getting similar dmax on EEM on the 7600 with UC inks.

Richard,

The purchase price allows unlimited use of the program with any or
all supported printers.

Tom,

In my 4000, I am using the standard UC inkset. In my 2200, I am
using UT7 inks. Both are being driven by IJC/OPM.

On my 4000, when I did the initial ink limit test (the one that
prints out 26 steps for each individual ink), I hit a Dmax of 1.74 on
EEM at about step 14. This was with UC inks.

getting the same readings on EEM on the 9600 with UC inks. The dmax
is probably the same for MIS. I was just looking for a comparison of
the 9600 with the 4000. I believe Paul Roark is getting similar dmax
on EEM on the 7600 with UC inks.

Tom,

You can enter the L* value from any spectro. You can simply type them in.

Joe -

But, there's no way to type in the a* and b* values. Those can only be read by the GM spectro, correct?

Re: IJC/OPM Update

I have the Epson 2100 with Permajet FSChrome and the 1160 with VTBlax -
both work really well with IJC/OPM. The 1160 VTBlax results are far
better with IJC/OPM than the standard Permajet curves.

Similarly the IJC/OPM sepia tone I get from the 2100 is far better
than simply "toning" in Photoshop.
