Zone VI Meter

2005-06-08 by chato77006

The Zone VI modified Pentax meter was recently referenced in a couple
of posts. I have had one since 1984, but it needs service. Great
meter, and obviously owned by serious b/w photographers like those on
this list. I was wondering if any members had advice on where to
get service for the meter since Zone VI is no longer an entity.

Ask KEH.com repair dept manager. He'll know.

Richard Ritter (former Zone VI employee) services them. He does fine
work. See: http://www.lg4mat.net/

Calumet acquired Zone VI Studios and still sells some of the Zone VI
equipment. I'd suggest calling Calumet 1-800-CALUMET) and see if they can
either repair it or recommend someone who can.

I had my Pentax meter rebuilt at a Pentax repair shop in Colorado. It
appeared they routinely replace the entire guts. It would probably be the
same for the Zone VI -- possibly without the middle men taking a cut.

There was a place in LA (hollywood actually) called Quality Light and
Metric which serviced
and calibrated all types of meters. very cool old guy, not sure if he
is still doing it. i have
been using Spectra Cine in Burbank for my meters lately, and they
could probably let you
know the best place for service and calibration. THey used to do it
while you wait!

Try

Quality Light Metric
7095 Hollywood Blvd. # 550
Hollywood, California 90028
323/467-2265
fax 323/ 467-2284

email is georgepmilton@...

He repaired my old Pentax Spot V a few years ago. He also
recalibrated it to take newer batteries. Excellent service, quality
work, and very reasonable pricing. I can't say enough about the
quality of service I got from this gentleman.
