UT7 Ink Cart Problems Resolved (Well...almost)

UT7 Ink Cart Problems Resolved (Well...almost)

2005-06-21 by SteveZ

Well, finally....and I mean... FINALLY, the UT7 inks I purchased for
my 2200 are working. What a relief and what a learning
curve...geeesh!!

And just as everyone said, they produce great quality black and white
prints. One thing though, I've been experiencing a lot of vertical
banding which seems to be easily corrected by the nozzle cleaning
control on the 2200. In fact, after each print I run a nozzle check
once or twice to make sure there are no missing segments on the test
pattern. Otherwise, the prints come out faded with banding.

This never happened with UC inks.

Is there something about the UT7 inks that cause this?

I went through two complete sets of MIS UT inks
because I love the eboni matte black but as a set I
never was able to resolve problems with air locks etc.
I tried to no success to resolve this through MIS tech
support but frankly they either did not care or knew
even less than I. consequently I have never been
successful and have given up, even though I still
think there is terrific potential. If anyone ever
solves these problems, let us all know so we can
participate as well.

Thanks

Woody, for some reason these ink sets are quirky, and the only
answer I can give you is to run the nozzle check BEFORE you do a
print and keep running it until the lines in the test patterns are
solid with no gaps. This seems to have worked for me.
