2100 with K3 inks - Crazy Idea

2100 with K3 inks - Crazy Idea

2005-07-16 by bwbonkers

Would this work ?

1) Buy either 110 or 220 K3 inks - 7 inks (Photo K, Matte K, Light K,
Light Light K, LM, LC and Y)

2) Syringe ink into MIS refillable carts.
3) Use QTR or IJC/OPM to control the inks.

Result K3 inks in a 2100 able to print using Photo K or Matte K with
no waste, and tonable using LM, LC and Y inks.

Anyone tried getting ink out of these bigger carts? It seems to me
that it would be worth the hassle on cost alone. 2100 carts 13 ml £10
approx, 220 ml carts £55 approx. Usable ink in the 13 ml carts
probably more like 10 ml !!

I have used the MIS refillable carts with great success and once
primed there is then no further waste.

Crazy idea or not?

Peter.

Should work just fine. I had a custom set of inks in my 2200 that
pretty much covered all of the bases from RC to cotton rag, warm,
cool, sepia and anything in between. Three blacks - MIS PKN, MIS PK,
and Eboni. MIS GLOP. MIS UT7 LC, MIS UT7 LM, and MIS UT7 Y
(Sepia). The profiles were all essentially for one black, depending
on paper and tone and various combinations of the two UT7 grays and
sepia toner, so essentially a "Kk" set-up. The Epson Kkk should be
even better.

I have been browsing the MIS website and could not find any info on
the refillable cartridges for 2100/2200. Could you help please.

Paul,
Thanks. I was actually looking for the spongeless refillable
cartridges. Any idea when they will have that?
