One Beginners Experience Printing B&W with Various Methods

One Beginners Experience Printing B&W with Various Methods

All prints made on Epson Enhansed Matte paper with matte black inks
using a Dry Creek custom color profile for the 2200

Program Printer Observations
QImage 2200 Very sharp, slight green tint
QImage 2400 B&W mode Very sharp, very slight brown tint
QuadTone RIP 2200 warm/cool Near black - not quite
QuadTone RIP 2400 (No curves) Way way too dark
ImagePrint 2200 Best blacks

Best B&W prints to my beginners eye
QImage, Epson R2400, B&W printing mode - 2nd place
ImagePrint, Epson 2200 - 1st place

With good curves QTR and QImage should be able to chalange ImagePrint

Now if I could just figure out how to make those curves you guys are
talking about I could sell my 2200 and ImagePrint.

Has anyone developed curves for QTR or QImage for the R2400 for B&W
printing they would be willing to share? EEM, MOAB or Red River Papers?

Is there any central place to post QTR curves? The file section of this
forum maybe? Elsewhere? Is "sharing" encouraged? :-)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
