Has anyone tried lacquer-mat coatings?

2005-09-01 by richard_h95050

Hi All,

I came across this manufacturer of print coatings on the Kodak
Website - has anyone tried their products or know anything about them?

http://www.lacquer-mat.com

Thanks,
Richard

I haven't seen this product yet. There are a lot of choices there. I
would like to see long term yellowing. etc tests of it.
They do mention blushing which is a pinkish cast that occurs while
curing (using epoxies) in high humidity environments.
I didn't know that laquer, perhaps this brand, does the same thing.

Red flag time.

Jules

Blushing was the bane of a photographers existence in the C'print days
when most studio output was lacquer sprayed. It wasn't pink. It just
was a veiling(milky) look to the coating that occured when spraying
under high moisture conditions. Lots of spray booths were not in ideal
places due to the need to keep it out of confined areas.

Duane
