Using the MIS 1280 "spongeless" carts in combination with 3rd party inks
are in my opinion, the best of all worlds....After 5 years of extra cleaning
cycles and constant clog/foaming ink issues with continuous ink supply
systems, I finally feel that I am actually having "fun" printing!.. The
"minor" inconvenience of having to re-fill the carts, and re-set the chips
better than offsets the wasted time, paper and inks of the CIS/CFS equipped
printers IMHO....I had four of them in use, and sooner or later they ALL
gave me trouble (and I feel they definitely helped to prematurely
"kill-off" at least 2 of my printers)....It's ALSO nice to know how
relatively EASY and ECONOMICAL it can be to try out the LATEST iteration of
inks from whomever...
     Just sharing my OWN experiences....

Subject: [Digital BW] 1280, Spongeless Carts and UT2 Ink

A previous post asked about reliability for the spongeless carts and
the 2200 and that he didn't want the same trouble as he had with a
1280 and the carts. I think I've read that most folks like them and
as I have some in route along with some ink and refilling gear I hope
I made the right decision. I've been using the MIS UT2 filled carts
for some time without any issues. Haven't the 1280 spongeless carts
been well received?

Thanks,

Tom
