Re: Epson 2200, six months old, MIS translucent cartridges with sponges Are there any online instructions for cleaning---and reassembling!!!---the ink pad or whatever it is under the printing heads in their parked position? I was refilling my MIS cartridges when I noticed a lot of black ink in inappropriate places near the "parking pad". I soaked a lot of it up with Kleenex and paper towels, but in pressing down on the pad I eventually managed to disassemble the thing. It's *mildly* difficult to get the two springs back in place... but *very* difficult to do so with the drain (?) tube attached at the bottom. Any suggestions or websites that will help? BTW, I am doing this entirely from the open top of the printer. Is there a better way, short of a major strip-down? And finally, *should* there be splotches of ink and even wet patches anywhere except the official ink pad? The rogue ink was not in the order of milliliters, but it *was* messy and out of place. The printer is only 6 months old, and none of the cartridges leak in any obvious way.
