Re: Caps for C86 refillables

I live in fear that this will happen to me as well. One possibility is this: 1) Using a set of drill bits, find one that fits the hole as perfectly as possible. (Use the "butt" or non-cutting end so you don't damage the hole itself.) 2) Put the drill bit into a drill and drill fairly shallow holes into a piece of plastic such a nylon (or any relatively hard material that is difficult to glue). Make the holes 1/4" - /1/2". 3) When you have drilled each hole to the proper depth, gently rock the drill a tiny bit to the side in each hole, rotating this tipped position around the hole while continuing to run the drill. This will give you a slightly cone shaped hole, with the top a bit bigger than the bottom. (You now see where I'm going.) 4) Clean out the holes really well and spray them with a *very* little bit of silicone lubricant or light oil. The point of this is to make them very "unsticky" without changing their dimensions very much. 5) Now fill all the hole with some kind of silicone adhesive, or the kind of stuff that automotive stores sell for molding your own silicone gaskets. 6) Let the silicone cure, and then gently extract your home-made plugs. With good luck, they will fit the holes perfectly. With my luck you will have to try again with a slightly smaller bit. Anyway, silicone is great stuff for do-it-yourself flexible things, and at the least automotive type should not have any trouble with the ink chemistry.
