Check out some of the other distributors like Media Street.Com.
Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 can be purchased in larger sheets and cut
down. This makes the paper very reasonably priced.

I purchase mine in packs of approx 25 36"x48" sheets for $265
delivered. I have the dealer cut it in half. I then cut is manually
in half again into 100 18"x24" sheets & trim from there after
printing.

This reduces the price to $2.65 per 18"x24" sheet. As I print a lot
of 16x20, the cost is very reasonable. Consider a box of 50 16x20"
Ilford Fiber Base MG IV. B&H sells it for approx. $103.00. That is
$2.00 per sheet. I know that is initially takes me 8-15 sheets until
I get a well made "fine print". After that additional copies come
more easily.

So in comparison, you can but the better papers at much the same
price as photographic papers.

Regards and Happy Holidays,

Mike

Try Eclipse Satine, or Eclipse Velvet. Thick, luxurious, 100 percent
acid free, pH neutral, etc. Not expensive, about 26 dollars for 25
sheets of Letter size. Great paper. Comes in 190 or 300 GSMS.

Thanks Jerry, this sounds like a good contender. Good blacks ? I'm
new to quadtone printing (MIS) and am trying to catch up on the
various papers available - would you mind providing a brief
description of the difference between the Satine and Velvet finish
you mentioned that it comes in ?
