beginner's question about PS curves

beginner's question about PS curves

2005-10-10 by bard960

Pardon this beginner's question: do you apply curves after doing other
image adjustments (e.g. histogram, re-sizing, USM, etc.), or is that
the only change you do onto the image once you have the right curve
for your printer/ink/paper combination?

Thank you.

For the workflows I use with Photoshop curves, don't apply them until the
image is in its final form and saved as a grayscale file. Then with the
variable tone inksets the workflow is to convert to RGB, apply the curve,
and print. With the monotone inksets (e.g., FS), the image can be left as a
grayscale, but don't save it over your final image file.
