2400 - Loading Thick Paper
2005-10-11 by Clayton Jones
Hello All, I've found that the 2400 will take thick paper in the top feeder if you bend the leading edge forward slightly. IOW, curl the leading inch of paper so that it's pointing forward into the machine. Takes it right up. I also found it likes a bit of space inside the fence (leave a few mm of space between the fence and paper edge. It semms to want to twist the paper a tad as it's grabbing it. If it's too tight a fit it will reject it and spit it out the front. With thicker papers I sometimes have to lay my finger on the top of the paper, just enough to encourage it forward so it can be grabbed. If you push it too much it will reject it and spit it out the front. I regularly feed it up to 300 gsm paper this way, no problems. I do this because much of my proofing is done with 1/4 and 1/2 size sheets, too small for the rear feeder.
