must i remove the "pizza wheels" from my 1160?

must i remove the "pizza wheels" from my 1160?

2001-12-28 by frankg_photo

I am about to take delivery of my first printer for quadtone inkset
with a CIS. I was browsing in the Epson list archives and came across
instructions for doing the above - I didn't know it had to be done -
is this a fact ? Has everyone with an 1160 done this ?

thanks

Hi Frank,
The marks don't show up on matte paper and since B+W
pigment inks only work on matte it's a none issue. I use Royal
Plush - German Etching and Epson Archival Matte mostly and
never see wheel marks.

Best,

John V.

Glad to hear that John. Thank you. I think I'm going to have my hands
pretty full just setting up the printer, the driver, the CIS, doing
tests for the curves and so on.... I'm pleased to hear that I dont
have to take the printer apart. I didn't even know why - it's a
marking of the paper(glossy)issue.
