carts for the R2400?

carts for the R2400?

2005-11-08 by Jim Panzer

Can anyone suggest a good place to buy carts for the R2400, I am going
through these things like mad. Also, anyone heard anything about third
party carts in the works, say from MIS or anyone? I remember using the Gen
4 inks in my old 1280 with a CFS, that was nice, maybe they'll come up with
something like that for the r2400.

C86/R800/R1800 carts are physically compatible with the R2400. The chips
are different. The MIS chip resetter will re-set Epson chips, so those can
be recycled. I've run MIS 2400 inks in these carts with Epson and MIS
chips, but MIS has not put any of the materials on its web.

The MIS 2400 color inks appear to be the same as the MIS Pro colors. The LK
also appears to be the same. The PK is not the same, since the 2400 (like
the R200) needs a lighter load (mix PK with some LK). And, of course, the
LLK is new (but extremely close to UT1-Hex-Y). In short, you can put
together a 2400 inkset easily from readily available MIS materials.

I'm not sure why none of this is on the MIS website. They may just not have
enough of all the supplies (most likely chips) to sell them. Alternatively,
they may be trying to get a color set that is closer to the Epson colors. I
found there were some small but visible differences that might affect the
profiles.

A CFS for the 2400 is also in the works.

MIS now has pre-filled2400 cartridges listed as "K4" inks. However, there is no light light
black included in this inkset. I don't know what these inks are.

Carl,
I just assume that website creation is not a strength at MIS, and search
around till I find what I’m after, or call them up.
I found it in the shop by part number list, knowing that it would start with
K4-.

Best regards,

They are all on the list now. The carts are said to be totally spongeless.

Why call them K4? Only 3 can be loaded at any one time and I'm sure it will
just lead to confusion. Where's the LLLK? Also they don't seem to be that
much cheaper than the originals....

Might be that Epson has a copyright or some other something with K3.
