Anyone "REALLY" know when the SP9800 will be available is realistic 
quantities and not just one here and one there?

The 7800's and 9800's are on allocation until the end of the year.

I've talked to numerous companies about the issue, and the most reasonable
answer I got was that supply is constrained right now because of customs on
the West coast, not Epson's actual supply. Seems as if the container ships
are lined up and waiting, but due to increased security, things are taking
much longer than in the past. That may be a bunch of hooey or not.

The same source also told me that it could be mid-Spring before the supply
starts to arrive in full force. Not a good situation. I paid a premium to
get a 7800 early, and it should be arriving today (fingers crossed).
