color management with too many settings
2005-11-22 by Barry Schaffer
Hi folks, Been with the group for quite a long time but not contributing anything because of certain personal reasons. I built a computer (too old for that really) as follows: Windows XP Pro, Dell 1905FP (19" LCD) etc. Problem is that the video display might be too involved for me. Beside the PS6 management I have nVIDIA settings for everything including ICC imports for every device including scanners, Adobe etc. The monitor also has calibration settings. My video card wich seems to enter into the mix is a GeForce 6800. With all of this this I still go back to Win98SE for B&W because my 1160 still chugs along and prints very nicely with the 98. The 1280 is a different situation. The screen and the print require some degree of luck on the XP. Does anybody know anything about all the nVIDIA settings? If I go through one of the nVIDIA display settings I get a GeFORCE 6800 GT curves window complete with sliders, import drop down and more! NVIDIA does not deal with the consumer and the motherboard people are not very hip to the photo type adjustments. There is no help menu. If this is too far of topic I am sorry. I really don't know where to turn. Thanks......Barry Schaffer [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
