canvas printing and mounting???

canvas printing and mounting???

2005-11-28 by Jim Panzer

Hi All, I wanted to print my parents up some images on canvas and have them
mounted, not framed mind you, just mounted so it's more like a painting. I
would probably have a service do this as I am not familiar with
mounting/stretching canvas. Does anyone have experience with having this
sort of thing done through a service? I know MPix does it but I have heard
people haven't been very happy with their quality.

Thanks,

Jim

If you're going to print the images on canvas yourself, you can just take the canvas print to
any (good) frameshop, and they'll be able to mount it on stretcher bars. If, on the other
hand, you want a service that can both print the image on canvas for you and then stretch
it, you have a couple of options:

(a) I'll do it for you (I have a 9600 and a variety of canvases and have experience
stretching) -- email me off-list if you're interested or

(b) check out this place: http://canvasondemand.com/ I've never used them, but they
were mentioned in a recent episode of the Photoshop TV video podcast.

Re: [Digital BW] canvas printing and mounting???

I don't know your location, but I have had several pieces done here in Altanta by Digital Arts Studio. They did a wonderful job, the printing on canvas as well as mounting on strecher frames. One of the items was 3 1/2 feet square and was unbelivable.

  regards,
  ann
