I have noticed that there appear to be two different versions of the Epson
driver for the R1800
The version which shipped with my R1800 (uk) is different to the version on
the Epson USA website.

The original has a greyscale check box in the advanced settings page....USA
does not appear to have a greyscale selection facility.

The USA driver has considerably different (additional) ICM and Profile
selection capabilities in the Advanced settings page.

Anyone else picked up on this? Anyone know why?

Installing one or the other seems to delete any previous instances  of R1800
driver so I have yet to check version numbers.
