UT-R2, Kirkland (whaouh!) and archival

I tried the Kirkland glossy from MIS Paul Roark's sample pack... what a
surprise.

This is REALLY the look & feel of a wet process picture.

How long will it last ? Epson Glossy is very well rated at Wilhelm
Research, what about this "noname Costco" product ?

And what about fading on Ilford Gallery Smooth Pearl? Good, Bad or
Average ? When looking at WR test results, the best minilab is only at
40 Years (compared to > 100): this is more than enough and I'm more
concerned about the Dark storage whith nanoporous papers.

BTW... where to buy Kirkland from Europe? Can't register from outside
US at costco !

And the price at MIS is a complete other story...

Francois,

That sample pack is from MIS, not me. Hopefully they have included the
papers I recommended.

It appears to have a buffered interior paper, which is the main thing I've
noticed distinguishes the Epson Premium (long-lived) papers from most of the
other (acidic) RC papers. So, I'm guessing the Kirkland paper will last
quite a long time.

With pigments fading is much more similar among papers than with dyes. The
problem with Ilford RC papers is their acidic paper base, which is probably
responsible for the 30 year estimated life I've heard for them. So, the
image will probably last longer than the paper base.

Costco is now in the UK. MIS might also re-package Kirkland and sell it.
