Selecting the "best" Bill Atkinson profile

Selecting the "best" Bill Atkinson profile

2005-12-13 by reederimages

Would like to hear from those who own a 7800 or 9800 and have begun
using Bill's new profiles.

I've done some testing and would like to compare notes. I did quick
search of the group and it did not appear that there was a tread going
already on this important topic.

Some early Black and white prints (using RGB color settings) came out
beautifully! - with no color cast! My images can be seen on
www.reederimages.com but of course those are not the printed version!

Best,

Milt Reeder

Today, I used two profiles of Semimatte, GM1, and teh X-R1, with my
4800. YES, that's NOT a typo, the 4800.

They were better than the latest Epson profiles, in every respect, IMO.
And, I was using Kirkland paper with Epson PSmPP250 used as the "paper
type".

I would assume all the other 78/9800 Atkinson profiles would work just
as well.

These are the BEST profiles I've ever used. Better than the custom
profiles I've have had made.

I mis-read your post and didn't realize I was in the B&W fourm.

Regarding my previous post, I was printing "color".

I'm glad to hear your report though, I'll try some B&W using
the "color" setting and his profiles and see what I come up with.
