It almost sounds like the behavior of using MK instead of PK inks. But,
that wouldn't affect the behavior of the color inks would it?

actually soaked one of these prints in water after 24 hours drying time, and

image under water no ink washes off, but if I rub the recent print after I
wet it, ink will rub
off. Ink shouldn't smudge under normal circumstances when it comes out of
the printer
