Hi,
on Greg Gorman's site there is an interesting tutorial on making duotones - look up http://www.gormanphotography.com/ and click on 'Learn'.

Richard,

Thanks for the link. I much enjoyed that duotone tutorial which is
listed as a b&w conversion tutorial in pdf form.

For quick bronze toning, I sometime use the Ken Lee duotone curves:

It's a bit misleading calling it a "b&w conversion", it is after all
a RGB file with some sort of color cast you end up with.

For some reason I am getting a plug-in cancelled message when I try
to access the pdf using Safari. Would be easier if he provided a
downloadable version.

Sorry for being vague and not giving the tutorial its correct name. His BW conversion itself is just a Lab conversion - most of the tutorial concerns adding the second tone.

I don't have a problem viewing or downloading the PDF is Safari 10.4.4.

But you could try holding the Option key while clicking on the PDF link to download to
desktop.

When I clicked the view button my contextual menu was for the Flash
plug-in. I finally solved the problem by clicking the button and
copying the pdf address from Safari to Internet Explorer which always
downloads pdf files whereas Safari will default to displaying them
unless you can control click the link (which I couldn't this time).

Thanks for your reply
