piezography vs mis quadtone ink

piezography vs mis quadtone ink

guys I need help. I am looking to get a epson 2200 and turn it into a
black/white only printer. I have been looking at quadtone ink sets
from lyson(dye), mediastreet, cone, and inksupply. I narrow my
options down to cone and mis. I need some real facts not just
personal bias for one brand vs another. I am leaning toward cone
beacuse in the latest ink its just black ink and you can buy paper for
whatever tone you want(warm, cool). Mis is great because the mixed ink
together can give you up to 40 differnt tones. I am also looking into
offering this solution as a printing service to the local photgraphy
community in my state(did research and there is a need for it). If
you guys can help me that would be great. Thanks.

ok now i have more information. sepia in the dark room is a total
different process(chemicals) than black/white(chemicals). Also if a
photographer wanted a warm or cool effect on their image the will do
it that time with filers, lenes, and settings. So I am going with
piezo ink but how will that work out if a photgrapher shot a
cool/black/white image and i am printing it for them on netural ink?
Is that where the RIP(studioprint) color management(gretag
spectrophotometer) and paper come into play? If so why does inkpress
sell paper that has different tones(warm, cool)?

wow I guess everybody is tired of this topic on this group. I found
out that 2 piezotone ink can be used in the epson 4000 at the same
time. So I am going to use 3 printers total. One for netural bw k7
ink, cool/warm netual bw, and the third for sepia ink(sundance). Does
anybody know of anyother company that makes sepia ink for inkjet?
Since back in wet darkroom days selenium tone was caused by a
protective coating, I am going to use Bradford Brilliant White paper
for that effect. Starting off with quadtone RIP then studioprint. If
I am missing anything somebody please let me know.
