FW: Is Epson 4800 overkill for me?

FW: Is Epson 4800 overkill for me?

2006-02-22 by G Guhan Gunaratnam

Hi Everyone,

Just to be clear, I'm not interested in putting third-party inks in the
cartridges. I was wondering about the ease of removing ink from the 4800
cartridges from Epson, and refilling the 2400 cartridges with it (MIS).

How many are using the spongless cartridges? Should I go with them?

But thanks for the words of warning Jim

Refilling inks with aftermarket inks on a desktop office printer is
one thing, but think long and hard before doing it on a pro level
Epson printer. Then don't do it.
Unless you plan to have professional profiles made for your cheap ink
you will be in for a life of pain and dissapointment in the world of
digital printing. The professionmal profiles out there are made for
the UltraChrome and K3 inksets. The color gamut of the 2nd party inks
is entirely different, however good they might be. For great results
use the Epson inks with professional profiles from Epson or the paper
manufacturers. Don't buy a professional printer and load it with less
than top notch ink.
